There has been recent changes in the insurance industry relating to flat roofs on high-rise residential buildings over 18 metres. These buildings are now required to be periodically inspected to ensure they are properly maintained and claims can then be classed as valid. Their new Drone Department means they are able to provide high definition images of all roof features to identify defects that are not visible from the ground. This method allows for quick, ad-hoc inspections and for more accurate roofing contractor quotes. Whilst there is no mandatory need for us in the private rental sector, we really see the value in their new service and think it could be a beneficial tool for our Landlords.
